The College of Social Work: Consultation

Help to shape your College today

In order to facilitate and encourage participation in the future purpose and function of The College, and to allow The College to establish its role as a centre for excellence, a major consultation process has now begun. This will run from May to October 2010.

Online consultation

Use the online consultation to tell us:

• What should The College do?
• Who should be able to join The College ?
• How should The College work with regulators trainers and unions?
• How should it work with people who use social work services and their carers?
• How should it be managed?

The first questionnaire is aimed primarily at social workers and their managers.

• Complete the online consultation now. Closing date: 10 September 2010.

Consultation events

A total of 22 consultation events will be held:

• 12 events for social work practitioners and managers
• 10 events for users of social work services

• 20 September, Wolverhampton
• 21 September, Leicester

* This event is now fully booked. The College team are looking into the possibility of holding a second London event in Autumn 2010. This document outlines the proposed purpose and functions of The College. It will form the basis of the consultation activities. We are publishing this in advance of the formal consultation in order to give you an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the proposals and plan your response to the consultation.
